It is believed that quality education is not confined in the four corners of the classroom nor gained through reading books alone. It is within this context that the students of Master of Arts in Education major in Special Education in this institution are enrolled this semester in SPED 211 (Psychology of Exceptional Children), under Prof.Perla G. Delos Santos. One of the requirements of the said course is to visit a SPED Center/School Based Center and do actual observation and participation. SAS students visited a SPED Center that could provide and strengthen the knowledge they gained throughout their classes. We have unanimously chosen St. Joseph Parish Worker Sped Center and visited last November 28, 2019(Thursday) at 8:30 in the morning. This activity was designed for students to serve the following purposes or objectives: make connections between theory and practice, observe characteristics of children with special needs, look into the facilities and resources used, do community service through gift giving; and develop good camaraderie among the M.A.Ed. students.
