Dr. Camara, a SAS faculty and member of Pangasinan’s Provincial Statistics Committee since 2019, served as Trainer-Speaker during the ‘Virtual Seminar-Workshop on Technical Writing Course on Statistical Reports’ on September 8 – 9, 2022, an activity organized by the Provincial Statistics Committee (PSC) of the Province of La Union headed by EnP Michaela Louise P. Delfinado with her vice-chair Dr. Danites E. Tenido. This activity was participated in by sixty (60) participants representing various provincial offices of (and in) La Union including CHED, CHR, DENR, DepEd, DMMMSU, DPWH, ENRO, LGUs, PHO, PIO, PPDO, PSA, PSWDO, PTO, RSSO-1, TESDA and PNP.
The seminar-workshop included topics on: Introduction to Technical Reports, Introduction to Research Journal Writing, How to Write Statistical Reports, Basic Technical Writing Techniques, and Technical Writing Using the APA Format. Workshops were given to the participants to capacitate them in applying techniques on technical communication as discussed.
As part of PSU’s core values as community developer, Dr. Camara shared during the seminar-workshop the findings of his funded studies in the University that could further contextualize his lecture series. These include the 4AA Model in Writing, the 6D Strategic Publication Model, among others. Further, he invited all the stakeholders to consider submitting their technical outputs to the journals of the University.
The Research Unit of the School of Advanced Studies commits itself to sustain its effort to promote a culture of research with its stakeholders as a form of its faculty extension activities.
