WE CAN DO IT AS ONE. PSU Pres., Dr. Dexter R. Buted, takes lead on the launch of ICT Konek at Basista, Pangasinan, one of the LGU partners of PSU.
Amid the COVID 19 pandemic, the Pangasinan State University and 22 Pangasinan municipalities were unstoppable in linking hands to provide accessible learning resources and other Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) facilities for students in the new normal setting.
Launching this project upholds the university and its stakeholders’ mission to provide quality education and to ensure that indeed, #WeLearnAsOne.
Among the municipalities were Alaminos City, Alcala, Asingan, Bani, Basista, Bautista, Bayambang, Binmaley, Burgos, Dagupan City, Dasol, Infanta, Lingayen, Mabini, Malasiqui, Mangatarem, San Carlos City, San Manuel, Sta. Maria., Tayug, Urbiztondo and Urdaneta City.
The goal of the said project is to establish more ICT learning space and students’ resources to areas within students’ reach. Also, timely and effective completion of students’ learning tasks through the use of accessible and available ICT resources will be ensured. The project will minimize the educational expenses of the students who belong to low-income families. Thus, the strengthened partnership between PSU and LGU will forge sustainable development.
Learning hubs in the participating Local Government Units (LGUs) are to be utilized during the pandemic as the university opts for flexible learning. Following CHED’s guidelines, PSU adopts the flexible learning strategy or mode in delivering instruction by ensuring appropriate facility delivery systems, faculty complement, and student support. The use of technology to support teaching and learning will help determine the level of technology to be used for the delivery of programs.
The hallmark ICT Konek project is an embodiment that even amidst the trying times, unity still abounds.
